This course is for anyone who currently holds a First Aid at Work qualification and is looking to re-new.

Participants can attend if their current certificate is less than 1 month passed the expiry date.

If the certificate is more than 1 month expired please contact us for advice.

Certificates that are more than 3 months passed the expiry date do not qualify for the re-qualification and therefore the full 3 day course would need to be attended again. It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in.

It is important to note that as soon as the First Aid at Work certificate expires, the First Aider is no longer considered competent to act as a First Aider in the workplace which may well leave the employer short of First Aiders. Therefore, it is highly recommended to arrange training before the expiry date to avoid any gaps in the first aid provision. Meets employers obligations and is in line with health and safety (first aid) regulations 1981

  • The qualification has 12 assigned guided learning hours exclusive of breaks.

The minimum classroom contact time of 12 hours must be delivered over a minimum of 3 days or can be completed over a maximum of 7 weeks ensuring that each session is a minimum of two hours.

There is a blended option which consists of 6 hours face to face teaching time and 6 hours online learning which must be done prior to the face to face session.

More information on blended learning can be found here.
