This course is for anyone who interacts with children or vulnerable adults and will provide a basic knowledge and understanding of what safeguarding is, why it is important and how to act if you suspect abuse or neglect.  

  • The qualification is a minimum of 4 learning hours exclusive of breaks.  

    Can be delivered over a maximum of 2 weeks with each session being 2 hours.

    Course timings can be discussed to suit your needs.

    There is no blended option for this course.

    • Who is responsible for safeguarding in your organisation

    • Most common types of abuse and neglect

    • Reporting

    • Keeping yourself safe

  • The qualification is assessed by the instructor through oral questioning throughout the course and full attendance is required.  There is also a written assessment.  There is no grading of the assessment, a certificate will only be issued if the criteria has been successfully met.

  • Participants must be a minimum of 14 years old to do this course and fluent in spoken and written English.

    Full attendance of the course is a requirement to pass.

  • Successful participants will be awarded with an Ofqual regulated qualification.

    There is no expiry date on the certification but it is recommended that annual refresher training be taken.
