Principles of Safeguarding

This is a more in depth course than our Safeguarding Awareness course and is for anyone who interacts with children or vulnerable adults on a regular basis and will give confidence to recognise signs of abuse and neglect and then how to report the information correctly and safely. 

  • The qualification is a minimum of 7 learning hours exclusive of breaks.

    This can be split over a maximum of 3 weeks with each session being a minimum of 2 hours.

    Course timings can be discussed to suit your needs.

    There is no blended option for this course.

  • The qualification is assessed by the instructor through oral questioning throughout the course and full attendance is required.  There is also a written assessment.  There is no grading of the assessment, a certificate will only be issued if the criteria has been successfully met.

    If anyone has any questions or concerns about the assessment process they should contact us to discuss before attending the course.

  • Participants must be a minimum of 18 years old to do this course and fluent in spoken and written English.

    Full attendance of the course is a requirement to pass.

  • Successful participants will be awarded with an Ofqual-regulated qualification.

    There is no expiry date on the certification but it is recommended that annual refresher training be taken to keep up to date with policies, procedures and legislation.
